Objective: The isolated tannin from jasmine (Jasminum grandiflorum Linn.) was investigated for its wound healing property.


Methods: The wound healing property of the isolated tannin from jasmine (Jasminum grandiflorum Linn.) was subjected to the following tests: Thin layer Chromatography (TLC) used to separate non-volatile mixture; Isolation is a process of separation to obtain a pure compound from the plant extract; Phytochemical Analysis used to identify the physical properties of extracts. 


RESULTS: Result of wound healing activity shows that the isolated tannin and the standard drug both exhibited wound healing activity against the test organism. Therefore the isolated tannin from Jasmine leaves produces comparable wound healing activity with the standard drug Mupirocin.


Conclusion: We, therefore conclude, that this research was conducted to determined the wound healing property of the isolated tannin of jasmine leaves using histophatology test at Department of Science and Technology, the research wer able to conduct the test with promising results. The positive control used Mupirocin and the negative control is distilled water. The test was conducted in 3, 7 and 11 days.
